After nearly three decades of having the privilege of caring for patients, Dr. Michael O’Brien has decided that it is time he step back from performing surgery in the operating room yet allow himself to continue to pursue other clinically related interests. As of January 1, 2025, he will no longer be doing major surgery in the OR, yet he plans to continue seeing patients in the office practice and performing office procedures as a partner in Surgical Associates of New Haven, PC. His partner Dr. Kaye Zuckerman will continue providing full time surgical services and doing all of the major surgical cases for SANH. This change will allow Dr. O’Brien more time for teaching, acting as Head of Slayman House in the Yale School of Medicine, and for administrative duties, yet continue to allow him to be involved with his long-term patient relationships and allow SANH to see urgent patients in an efficient and timely manner.
